Teenager Depression of the Main Characters in Jennifer Niven's Novel All the Bright Places
This research aims to focus on analysis the depression of teenager in All the Bright Places novel by Jennifer Niven. The objectives of the research are to find how teenager depression described in the characters of the novel and to find how the characters in the novel coped with depression. This research used gualitative method. The findings of this research, the researcher analyzed the data into depressive disorder theory by Fawcett in term to classify the teenager depression experienced by both of the main characters of the novel, both Theodore Finch and Violet Markey experienced major depressive disorder by following five symptoms are depressed mood, the lack of interest in something, insomnia, feeling useless, and suicidal thoughts.
