The Hate Speech towards British Royal Family on Twitter (A Cyberpragmatic Study)
This study aimed to find out what are the form of hate speech towards british toyal family in twitter using cyberpragmatics perspective. This research was conducted using a gualitative descriptive method and analyzed using Cyberpragmatic theory. The forms of hate speech used in this research is based on the committee on the elimination of racial discrimination No.35, United nation (2013), they are expressions of insult, inciting hatred, and ridicule or slander of person. The results of this study indicate that from 112 data that has been found by the researcher, the researcher found tweets contains hate speech which indicated 35 tweets as expression insult, 45 indicated as incitement to hatred , and 35 tweets as ridicule or slander person. Furthermore, the researcher found that these tweets had different meanings and writing intentions based on the interests of twitter users who made the hate speech such as expressing dislike, expressing anger, expressing disappointment, dropping reputation, provoking readers, insulting and mocking, and just following trending twitter for personal branding. Thus, the hate speech that spreads on twitter against the British Royal Family cannot be used as a reference that the British Royal Family commits crimes that are hated by many people.
