Presupposition in Podcast “Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain: The Instagram Illusion Episode”
The aims of this research are to find out and classify the types of presupposition in “Podcast Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain: The Instagram Illusion Episode”. This research applied Yule theory (1996) that divides six types of presupposition. This research used a gualitative method with the source data from the audio of Emma Chamberlain Podcast “The Instagram Illusion Episode”. Based on classification of six presupposition types according to Yule's theory (1996), the researcher found 57 utterances which contain types of presupposition. It consists of fourteen utterances of existential presupposition, nine utterances of factive presupposition, seventeen utterances of counterfactual presupposition, five utterances of lexical presupposition, and twelve utterances of structural presupposition. But there is one type of presupposition that the researcher did not find in this podcast that is non-factive presupposition. To conclude, presupposition must be found in every utterance and it can be in the form of dialogue or monologue. Keywords : Pragmatic, types of presupposition, podcast.
